Star USA Federal Credit Union offers a share secured loan to anyone who would like to borrow against their Star USA Federal Credit Union shares. The interest rate for a share secured loan is only 2.5% above the current share dividend rate. Star USA requires that the share account is secured for the amount of the declining loan balance. Monthly payments are required with terms up to 120 months. IRA accounts may not be pledged as collateral for this loan, however, standard Certificate of Deposits may.
