ELECTION OF OFFICERS
In accordance with the Bylaws of Star USA Federal Credit Union, the 2022 elections will be held by mail ballot. In the event of an election, all ballots must be returned by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Results will be announced at the 86th Annual Meeting which will be held on Tuesday, July 19th. Federal regulations allow for members to be nominated for office by petition signed by at least 158 current members. Any member nominated must be willing to serve and provide a written statement affirming that fact. The statement shall also certify the applicant is willing to meet minimum training requirements and they will assume the responsibility for travel costs to the monthly meetings.

86TH ANNUAL MEETING TO BE HELD DIGITALLY ON
JULY 19TH
2022 marks the 86th year that Star USA Federal Credit Union has assisted members with all their financial needs. Since 1936, this Credit Union has helped our members maintain financial solvency during difficult times. From World Wars to pandemics, Star USA has provided guidance and assistance with savings and loan products and services.
On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, the 86th Annual Meeting of Star USA will be held virtually through the “Go To Meeting” website. The Business Meeting will convene at 11:00 a.m.
As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, every member in good standing is eligible to attend and participate in the annual meeting. 2022 Supervisory Committee Report
STAR USA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION 2022 ANNUAL MEETING OVERVIEW
The 86th Annual Meeting of Star USA Federal Credit Union was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Chairman Tom Epps called the Meeting to order as a quorum was present. After introducing the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee, Chairman Epps provided his report of the highlights of the previous year.
He discussed the technological advancements that allowed Star USA to flourish during the COVID pandemic. The foresight of the officials and staff allowed the Credit Union to grow while many financial institutions suffered. A data conversion was undertaken in 2021 that will continue to offer updated programs and services in the future.
Star USA continues to provide educational assistance to West Virginia students through the affiliation with the Almost Heaven Scholarship Fund. Staff continues to work with and mentor elementary school students in the area. The Credit Union’s golf tournament has also raised much needed funds for children’s charities in the region by helping those who are unable to pay for therapy services.
The Chairman concluded his remarks by thanking staff for their commitment and diligence throughout the past year. He also thanked the members for their continued support as the official family of the Credit Union looks forward to the future.
Chairman Epps then introduced President Dan Smithson who provided remarks on the strength and financial well-being of Star USA. President Smithson addressed the challenges facing the Credit Union which include the aftermath of the pandemic as well as finding and retaining staff. The downturn in the economy is another hurdle the Credit Union is working hard to overcome. President Smithson provided an overview of the financial status of Star USA and reported that 2021 was one of the most profitable years in the history of this institution. He also thanked the members for choosing this Credit Union and ensured the membership that their deposits were safe and secure at Star USA.
David McCormick, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, announced that by acclamation, three-year terms on the Board of Directors would be accepted by Tom Epps, Bill Miller and Mike Quinlan.
